This Assembly is based on the story of Abraham and his son Isaac. The context for the story is that Abraham and his wife Sarah waited a long time to have a child and eventually, even though they were old, they had one and they called him Isaac. God then asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, which Abraham climbed a mountain to do. When on top of the mountain an angel came to Abraham and stopped him sacrificing his son. The value of the assembly is trust, and Abraham had shown that he trusted God even when he could have lost something he loved dearly.
This is found in the Old Testament part of the Bible and forms a part of the story of Israel.
