This assembly explores how Esther, a poor, orphan, Jewish girl became Queen. Esther kept her Jewish heritage quiet until she heard from her Uncle that there had been a plot planned to kill all the Jews, and the plot was from one of the King’s servants. Esther took a risk and told the King about the plot, and that she was Jewish, this saved all the Jewish people.

This assembly looks at the value of courage. Esther took a risk telling the King about who she was, as he could have rejected her. However, Esther was courageous and told him anyway – she knew her actions could save many people. This story appears in the Old Testament and forms part of the story of Israel.
